Brothers and our Honored Guests,

First and foremost, I want to thank God for everything that He has been to me in the past, and what He will be to me in the future. We all know that without Him, we are nothing.

Let me start off by saying that it’s an absolute Honor to be the Master of Washington Meredith Lodge for 2007. I love this Lodge and every Brother in it. I appreciate all of you for your support and guidance along my Masonic Journey. I know without the love and support of all of my Brothers, this year would have not been possible.

I entered Washington Meredith Lodge for the first time in Masonry on January 18, 1991. I had no idea at the time, what a privilege I was given that night by being accepted into this Lodge. I entered like most, scared and curious, I left that night in awe of Masonry and it’s teachings, and to this day, I’m still in awe of Masonry and it’s teachings. Being a true Mason is not just a title that we wear, it’s a way of life, and lived correctly, it’s a life of Honor and Pride. I cherish the years I have been Blessed with being a member of this Lodge, and it’s an Honor and Privilege to be representing this Lodge as Master for this coming year. I hope I will never do anything that is not for the good of this Lodge, and for the good of Masonry around the world. Let us always be mindful of our actions and remember to implement the tools of a Master Mason into our everyday lives for our betterment personally, as well as the betterment of this great Fraternity.

On a personal note, I want to dedicate my year as Master not only to the Craft, but to two men who have been such a big part of my Masonic Journey. To our late Brother, “Uncle” Willie Douglas. Who along with my father, raised me the night I became a Master Mason. Uncle Willie was the absolute definition of a Mason. He lived it, talked it, and taught it. He will be forever missed by Washington Meredith Lodge. The other influential person I wish to dedicate this year to is my father Ronnie Lindsey. He was taught Masonry by Brother Willie, and has handed it down to me. He has been a constant guide to me over the years, and has been a strength to me as a Mason, and a man. I consider it a gift  to have been in Lodge with him these past 16 years. Thanks for all that you do for me and for Masonry Dad!!

In closing, let me say once again, what an Honor it is to be Master of Washington Meredith Lodge. I’m proud of my Lodge and I’m proud to be a Mason. I love you all. May God Bless each and everyone of you is my Prayer.

Fraternally,

Scott Lindsey
